SYNC® 3

SYNC® 3 is our easy-to-use, responsive voice-activated technology. Discover the system’s quick reactions to your conversational voice commands. Experience the smartphone-like touchscreen with impressive responsiveness. You’ll also find a sleek user-friendly interface to help you connect to and control your smartphone. Locate your favorite restaurants with simple destination entry via the optional navigation. SYNC® 3 is fast, smart and easy to use.

Front 180-Degree Camera and Forward Sensing System

Aids visibility for limited-sight maneuvers such as pulling out of the driveway, street or parking lot. This available technology also allows the driver to see around corners.10 A washer is included to help keep the lens free of dirt and other debris.

Available Dual Second-Row Smart-Charging USB Ports

The smart-charging USB ports charge up to twice as fast as standard USB ports.

Hands-Free, Foot-Activated Liftgate

With the available Intelligent Access key in your pocket or purse, just kick your foot under the bumper and the available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate automatically opens — making it easier to load and unload cargo. You can also adjust the liftgate height, which is helpful for lower overhangs.

Lane-Keeping System

The available driver-activated Lane-Keeping System can alert you to unintentional lane drifting. Choose the lane-keeping alert mode that vibrates the steering wheel when you drift too close to a lane marker — or the lane-keeping aid mode that activates directional steering torque to help guide you back to the center of the lane. Or combine the effects of both modes: Continue drifting after the steering torque is activated, and the steering wheel adds the vibrating sensation.

Enhanced Active Park Assist

Available enhanced active park assist gives Explorer the ability to help make parking easy. Utilizing the vehicle’s 12 ultrasonic sensors, Explorer will scan for suitable parking spaces, and will assist in backing the vehicle into the spot. All you have to do is shift, accelerate and brake –because Explorer will take care of the parking. This convenient feature also includes park out assist, reverse perpendicular parking plus forward and side sensing systems.
